Jake's
Fund

In loving memory, crossed to Rainbow Bridge July 31, 2006
Jake
was a beautiful, loving collie that came to us from a shelter in
West Virginia
. Jake had been diagnosed with chronic renal failure and we were told he
had approximately one year to live. Jake required special food and needed more veterinary care as time progressed.
In spite of the daunting task ahead of them, Jake was fortunate enough to be adopted
and loved by a very special family. Our thoughts and prayers go out
to Ashley, Eric, Hannah and Aidan in the loss of their boy, Jake, who loved boat
rides, helping to make the beds and squeezing into every photo opportunity.
More
and more frequently Tri-State Collie Rescue finds itself desperately trying to
help collies like Jake that can be considered ‘special needs’ collies
without the revenue that makes that help possible.
Because TSCR takes its responsibility to all of our collies very
seriously, regardless of age, looks or health status; we often run up
significant veterinary bills caring for them.
We
feel that these dogs, many of whom have endured years of neglect, deserve the
chance to live out their remaining days with dignity and in a loving, caring
environment.
To further our goal of providing quality end of life care for our most
needy of collies, we have set up a special fund that we’re calling Jake’s
Fund. Any donation to this fund
will help us provide the quality care that our ill and senior collies require,
while still ensuring that our more adoptable collies receive
the care they need while awaiting their forever homes.
If it is not possible assist financially, please consider
opening your heart and your home in order to provide hospice foster care to one
of these very special ‘special needs’ collies.
