Tri State Collie Rescue is sadden by the loss of one of our youngest and most willing volunteers, Jaime Poiynter, who
recently passed away . Jaime had been diagnosed with a very rare blood disease and was believed to be the only person
in the United States affected by this disorder. Jaime was only 23. She leaves behind her husband and their three-year-old son,
Brandon, as well as two collies, Gunnar and Sadie.
Jaime adopted a collie from us in 2004 and at that time she asked if we needed volunteers. When I told her we were always
looking for volunteers, she joined with great enthusiasm. She attended events, transported dogs, fostered, and was always
asking what else she could do to assist us. She never complained about feeling ill or th! at she was thinking about the
liver transplant her family hoped she would soon receive.
The family portrait was taken at one of her last events. She involved her whole family in everything she did for Tri State.
Our rescue collies have truly lost a very loving and kind person, and we will miss her very much.
