Mollee
Mollee is a 2 yr old sable and white girl that would love to be your new companion. She will do well with older children
but is too active for the little ones. She also would make a great companion as an only dog. She is housebroken, current
on all of her vaccines, spayed and ready for her forever home.

|
Max
Max is an 8 year old sable and white male who is up-to-date on his shots, neutered, and housebroken. He is a very sweet,
reserved gentleman who quietly slides his head onto your leg when you are sitting and looks up at you with his big, beautiful
eyes asking for attention, and then quietly stands beside you while you stroke his head and scratch behind his ears. He is
fond of children (his foster Mom as a 6 year old and a 13 year old), ignores cats, and gets along well with other dogs; in fact,
he would probably do best with another dog in the home as he has some anxiety over storms and loud noises which seems to be
better when there are other dogs to show him that there is nothing to be afraid of. Max is an adorable, gentle boy who is
looking for the right people to take care of him and love him forever!

Ricki
Rikki is a shy girl but when she gets outside she lets her hair down and runs and plays with all the dogs with sheer
delight. She is a year old smooth collie that has already had puppies. After being in foster care for a few weeks she
is making progress warming up to the foster mother but this sweet girl will need someone that understands timid collies
and can work with patience toward helping her become more secure and confident. She loves to stand watch in the big yard
she has free roam in and does a good job keeping an eye on the place. She is house trained and leash trained. She would
do best with a male dog as a companion and she must have a fenced in yard. This girl needs a home where she can finally
begin to know the love and comfort of her very own home and family.

Robin
Meet Robin
Talk about a Looker, Robin is appox. 8 yr old female, Merle collie. The rich mahogany sable browns/gray/white
of her coat, very unusual. Robin came to Tri State Collie Rescue out of Southern Indiana. She was found last year
as a stray on a farm, they kept her for year and felt the dog was going to get hurt due to her love of chasing anything on wheels.
Once we learn more about this awesome coated lovely grand dame...we will give you the rest of the story.

Sasha - Adoption Pending
Sasha is a 6 month old spayed tricolor collie who loves being petted and getting attention! She loves to play with toys,
dogs, kids and even cats! She is learning basic obedience (and doing really well!), is crate trained, and walks well on a leash.
Sasha spent her first 6 months cooped up in a kennel so she can be a little timid around things she has never experienced before,
however, she conquers her fears pretty fast! There has been no aggression seen, not even around food and she rarely barks! Help
give Sasha a forever home where she can be loved and get the attention she has always wanted!

Please open your heart to this wonderful senior.

Mozart - Adoption Pending
Mozart or "Jack" looks like he is surveying his kingdom in the photo taken by the lake. What a regal dog he is as he prances
around knowing that everyone loves and wants to pet him. For a nine-year old, he is a playful guy and loves to run and dodge
me as I try to catch him in the park. He runs up and down the stairs, jumps in my car easily, and gallops after the squirrels
and rabbits, but never has a chance to to even get close to one. He is totally housebroken, never has had an accident, and looks
for the long grass and ravines because he is so discreet. When we walk around the island, he meets other dogs, but no matter
how big or small, he's curious and friendly, never agressive. I am training him to walk with me without a leash, and when I
call him by the name of "Jack," he turns around and comes right back to me so I can pet him and tell him what a beautiful dog he is.
During the last few nights when the thunder and lightning rolled in, he paced and was anxious and wanted to sleep by my bed.
The family that adopts this dog will have many years of wonderful companionship and love.

Amy - Adoption Pending
Amy is an outgoing, sweet, and social 8 month old collie who loves to run and play. She gets along great with dogs,
cats, and kids, and has never shown any aggression. Although Amy is an active girl, she loves to curl up with you at
the end of the day to watch TV. She is crate trained, spayed, UTD on shots, walks well on a leash, and loves to ride in
the car. Amy was found wandering the streets as a stray until someone turned her in to the rescue to give her a chance at
having a great family adopt her!
|
Amy is a wonderful 8 month old little girl that was picked up as a stray, and while the people that found her did try and find her owners they weren't successful. They contacted us to help with her and we took her into our rescue program. She is completed vetted and is ready for her forever home. She is a loving little girl that listens very well, gets along with other dogs and cats and might even be housetrained. She likes to go for rides in the car and walks well on a leash.
She is just the sweetest little girl. She is a very light sable and white colored collie that will make a wonderful companion.

Phoebe
Phoebe is approximately 4 years old, and is a slight little girl <40 lbs. She is housebroken, utd on her vaccines,
and gets along great with other dogs. She ignored the cats when she first came to her foster home, but has decided
cats are great fun to pester and follow through the house. Too bad the cats don't share the same interest in this type of play.
Phoebe has endured way too much hardship in her short life. She was given ivermectin by mistake, and it almost proved fatal.
Her condition was very grave, and it was touch and go to see if she would recover. Luckily, Phoebe has a strong will to live,
and she has pulled through with no apparent side effects. However, to add insult to injury, Phoebe, being a southern girl, came
into rescue heartworm positive. She will need to be treated before being released for adoption. It's heartbreaking, because
heartworm prevention is such a simple thing you can do to insure your dog's well being, and ivermectin should never be given to
collies...there are many other acceptable alternatives out there. Phoebe deserves a loving, patient family who enjoys being
rewarded with her tail wagging and sweet smiles. Phoebe needs a buddy who will help her gain confidence, and she will require
a fenced yard.

Bailey
Bailey is a spayed female about 5 - 6 yrs of age. She has storm stress and will need to have a place to be calm in
during that time. She has a great personality and desires to be loved and seems and seems as if she wants to communicate
with you. She does not seem comfortable with cats and would be best in a home without them. More information to come as
she settles into her foster home, and we learn more about this sweet girl.

Houston
Houston is a big and lovable soul who likes to believe that one day he can become a lapdog. He is a very calm, cool, collective
and friendly collie who has never met a dog, cat or person that he doesn’t like.
Houston is fully housebroken as well as kennel trained, but he prefers to be out of the kennel so he can be apart of the action.
He is a larger dog, but he doesn't get rambuncious or destructive, he just likes to play follow the leader!
Although, Houston has a huge learning curve ahead of him as he doesn’t know how to sit, stay, etc. his foster parents are working
with him very closely to make sure that he is a well mannered collie. He does a good job walking on a leash and could very
easily become the ideal walking partner! But be aware he is afraid of thunderstorms and has no problems telling you about it.
Houston needs someone with a lot of patience, a lot of love, and he would prefer someone that is home quite a bit and this big
lover will reward you with all the love he has!

Devin
Meet Devin, he a 7 yr old mix that is fully vetted and just a great guy. His owner died and he came up
to Ohio from the south. Foster mom, says he is friendly, good with other dogs and housebroken.
Devin seems to prefer women. He doesn't do well with men (don't know more specifics, just that only women/girls were in the household).

Fitch
Fitch is a beautiful 7 year old sable and white collie who is current on vaccines, neutered, house, and crate trained.
Fitch plays well with the other dogs, likes to fetch, and even puts up with the resident collie puppy when she chews on
his ears and paws. Fitch also enjoys a good nap on the dog bed once playtime is over. Fitch is good with kids, but hasn't
been cat tested. Fitch may need a little extra tender loving care, because he is a bit shy, but eventually he warms up as
his confidence grows. Once he gets to his forever home, and gets the consistency and love he deserves, he should thrive.
If you have a fenced yard, and are patient and kind..Fitch would love to go home with you.

Benny
Benny is a 3 year old collie/sheltie, possible golden mix. Benny is a little guy with a big heart. Benny was surrendered
to TSCR by his owners who thought he deserved a better life with a family who could give him more love. Benny is doing
wonderful in his foster home, he loves his canine companions & gets along with all of them. Benny loves children and is
cat friendly. Benny is completely housebroken, crated trained and walks well (and will potty) on a leash. Benny gets very
excited when he first sees you, he likes to jump up on you & verbally tells you how much he missed you. We are working on
this with Benny. Although Benny loves children maybe a home with older kids would be better for Benny. This is a very sweet
little dog and he has the most wonderful house manners.

Cooper
Cooper is a 5 year old male rough collie with a wonderful loving personality. When Cooper came into our program it was necessary
to have him shaved down due to severe neglect. When his coat grows back in he will be a beautiful specimen of the breed.
Cooper is a great collie and is looking for a family who will love him unconditionally. He is quite the "homebody"
and doesn't care much for meeting new people or to socialize much. He wants to just be in his home with a family that loves
him and he will let strangers know that they might not be welcomed. He is great with other dogs and does great with cats,
he is even housebroken.
Cooper needs a home with a fenced in back yard, as he is not very good on a leash and he is very skittish when taken on walks.
His behavior is the result of not being socialized and kept on a chain in the backyard of his previous owner.
Cooper loves to play fetch and will play for hours if you can keep up with him. A good supply of tennis balls is a MUST
for Cooper...He will bring the ball back to you, drop it at your feet and bark until you throw it again.

Kane
Kane & Kansas are smooth collie mix brothers approximately one year old, who lost their home due to owner’s financial circumstances.
Although young & energetic, they also have calm personalities after their initial bout of play and exercise. Of the two, Kane is
more outgoing – preferring to sit by your side & always trying to sneak up on the couch/bed to be with you. He does not display
any curiosity toward the cats.
Kansas is more laid back – he loves to be petted and groomed, but is not as pushy as Kane as far as demanding attention.
He will voluntarily go to his crate to hang out & is more comfortable being crated for longer periods than Kane. Of the two,
Kansas appears more assertive toward other dogs/cats, but he will also “leave it” when commanded to.
They walk nicely on a leash, will sit on command, and will come when called. Although initially reluctant to load in a car,
they ride well once they are settled in. No food aggression has been observed. They take treats from your hand nicely-
no grabbing & snatching.
Together or separately, these fine young dogs will provide years of companionship & joy. It is obvious they were raised in
a very loving and caring environment.

Cammie
Cammie is a sweet young girl, about a year old. She loves everyone, and will often greet new people by flopping upside
down for a belly rub. She shares her chew bones with the other dogs, cuddles with the cat, and is gentle with children -
a real doggie diplomat! Cammie loves other dogs, and is a quiet girl.
Cammie has had two isolated seizures, about two months apart. She has been evaluated by a veterinarian, and at this time
the vet doesn't recommend the need to be on medication. Cammie also benefit from a premium dry food. She would probably
do well with the sweet potato and duck formula, or a product you can purchase at your vet's office. Cammie may be a
little high maintenace, but really aren't all of us girls??

Hamilton
As humans we spend time preparing for our golden years and always hope when the time comes that our family will be
there to help care for us. Well this is not always the case when it comes to a senior dog. Hamilton's fate was written
on his kennel card at the shelter "EUTHANIZE". With the assistance of a wonderful shelter worker and TriState Collie
Rescue Hamilton was spared that lonely horrible "fate". No one knows where Hamilton has been the past 10 years of his life
all we know is "No One Came Looking For Him"
Hamilton is a real sweet heart. He loves to follow you around and be your shadow. He is a very laid back boy. He is not
shy and loves everyone he meets. Hamilton loves to lay his head in your lap. Although Hamilton is around 10 yrs old he
still has lots of love to give, and lots of life to live. Hamilton loves going for short walks, and he likes to hang out in
the yard. Hamilton can be a silly playful boy too!

Margo
Margo is a collie-wannabee that was in a very high kill shelter. She is loveable, young and ready to be
your next companion. We aren't sure what she is mixed with but think maybe a sheltie/basenji cross.

TRI STATE COLLIE RESCUE SENIOR COLLIES
Our senior dogs are the most difficult to place in forever homes. Many people are
hesitant to open their heart to a senior dog knowing that their companionship
period is going to be shorter. Most of these wonderful dogs have come from
situations where they were once loved family members and have been taken care
of and are even housebroken. One look into their eyes and you know how deeply
they can love you. The graying muzzle cannot compete with a puppy but please
take a moment to consider a senior dog. If you are looking for a quiet
companion, one that doesn't make the exhausting demands a younger dog can,
then maybe one of our elders is the dog for your family.
